Hi PlantBuddy, just wanted to let you know that we started our new iPersonic Affiliate Program. That might be of interest for you if you're maintaining your own blog or web site. If you don't you might wanna tell someone else about earning money with iPersonic products ...
Hello, plant buddy,
That brassica you had displayed in your blog as a weed is considered very much a food in this part of the world.
It's a rich source of iron, calcium, Vitamin A and fibre. (In fact, it's my main source of iron.)
It can be eaten with rice and curries; then it has to be washed and soaked in salt water for half hour, cut thinly, and thinly sliced onions, green chillies, maldive fish, salt and lime juice is added. (Lime helps to absorb iron.)
I usually use it to make green cunji- after washing as before, blender it with coconut to give a juice. (or grind it and add coconut milk) Boil some rice with excess water and add the juice and some salt to taste. I also add sugar.
A good idea, thanks. I have the next two days off, anyway, so I think I will have a closer look at the plants. Even I should be able not to 'kill' something robust like ivy within a few days :-)
Hello over there to Canada and welcome!
The picture you show as profile is really nice. Did you take it, is it something you arranged in your garden?
I have no "green thumb" at all, but appreciate and enjoy the nice garden my parents have, of course ;-)
I'm enjoying all the things a SD should: gardening, photography, people, children, writing on my blog. www.wateronceaweek.blogspot.com
My favorite color is orange.
