OK, let me try )) I think, I would be a cyborg. It could lead me to being more tolerant and rational, and may be I wouldn't reach my aims using other people. May be I could enjoy life itself instead of searching for excuses of my narrow-mindedness...

My mother and I are very close, actually. She's pragmatic and sensible. I've tried to tell her about it before. Our family's not normal, and I think she takes my depression as a hereditary thing. I'd rather have my "temporary relief" right now, and get more help when I'm of legal age, than jump through hoops for pills that will probably not help me.

hey Vitaly, thanks. I get it in my chest. It's really weird. When I'm upset, it's like something's pushing to get out of me. This sounds bad, but it feels nice to release it. I can sympathize with cutters a lot. I don't see it as attention seeking or anything, its just a need. I'd really like or see someone about how I feel, but my mother won't let me.

Hi Vitaly, They fixed the internet connection today. Hah hah ha. I'm so happy.
Yes, I do have skype, and I used to chat with my bro when he was abroad, and also with my best buddy. I have a web camera as well-so I should be able to , wait, no, you should be able to see me. :-)) Yes, it's such a nice facility-for example, my friend's elderly mother can see her grandchildren and her favourite daughter as she talks to them, and see how fast the kids grow up. All this at hardly any expense. I guess this is what it should lead to at the end of all the development programs-everybody should be able to get what they want at affordable prices. :-))

Hi,Vitaly,my friend,after a looooooong time. :-)
I'm getting used to my house. On the good side, there are so many trees around, birds, squirrels and cats. Inside is pleasantly cool, though I have to use two bed sheets at night. :-) Calm neighbourhood. It takes only 20 minutes for me to walk to hospital from here,so I get a 40 minute work out each day. :-) Plus, saving on fuel expenses.
On the bad side, urgh, no point in complaining; I've adjusted to most of it. :-)

About downloading music, yeah, I wouldn't do that. :-) But then, most of the music cds and software we have here are pirate versions. :-) I didn't even know that they were, until a few years back. The problem is, we can't afford to buy the original versions. Even most of the medical books that we use are photocopied without permission from the owners. (There are some low priced editions, published for South Asian countries. Even they are too expensive for most of us.) I guess this is bad, since it's some sort of stealing. But then, the owners do lose some profit; but they want listeners to their music, readers to their books, right? The product is for us-the users. :-) If we don't get to enjoy the good music or improve our knowledge, what's the point in producing all these?? :-))

Don't give upon meditation. You'll get the results, sooner or later. At least in your next life. :-)) No,really. For me also,it seemed I'm just trying without any result but suddenly I realized my thinking and perception have sharpened, OUTSIDE meditation session. :-))
Good luck. TC.
I still don't have a net connection. Will get it soon.I hope.

No, I haven't listened to Russian music. I'd love to. I haven't seen that many films from that part of the world either, except 'some birds can't fly'. What's the site he puts his music in? it seems like you've stopped that sentence halfway-you were telling your friend is taking lessons in Buddhism, then "it's legally", which seems to me an orphan phrase. Do you mean, that you don't want to upload music for which you don't have copyright or something?

You're very innocent, you know, if you think you can't upload music because you have no right. :-) I've thought of the issue-it could be stealing, if you look at it that way. But who owns the music? Or any art work? The one who produces it or the ones who fall in love with it? ;-) True, the artists have to make a living out of what they do, but I feel, if they publish, or make their work for people, then it belongs to us. Us, who enjoy it, of course, not the ones who want to make a profit out of it.

So, here's a lot of "words" for you to read. I may not be able to come online for a few weeks after I move to new place.
Have a nice time.

And another thing-we are not supposed to control thoughts-just observe them. But we are so used to think, and to control, it's so very difficult to just observe. When I took a residential program, it took me one week to realize what is meant by just observing. ;-) I had been trying to push away thoughts the whole week! And forcing myself to focus on something. hah hah ah.

Maha Sathipattana suthra is a very long one. It's be very difficult to listen to it in one go. I wonder how those monks listened to Buddha those days. Must have been a bunch of very disciplined people.

Mm. How long can I meditate in one go-that's what you're asking if I've understood correctly. Well, in the beginning, it was a few seconds at the most. :-) And I was thinking about the pain in my joints while sitting the rest of the time, and towards the end, cursing the monk who was teaching. I improved a lot during that one week program-we had nothing but meditation and eating to do that week. And by the end of it, I could manage to sit without changing the position for 20 minutes. Meditation itself improved to one brief period when my mind was absolutely still, just observing, and experiencing such a wonderful, happy state of mind. But I haven't experienced that again.

Later I improved somewhat-I mean, my mind would run wild for a fraction of a second but will be back before I notice, but it had never been absolutely still. Like that, I could meditate for about 50 minutes at the best. At that time I spent 1-2 hours on improving meditation.

Though it seemed like my efforts were fruitless, it showed its results while I was NOT meditating-not in the traditional sense. But my awareness improved at other times. I'd see that I'm going to get angry and that knowledge itself was enough to stop any advancement of anger. And I came to understand myself and others better-I mean, if my mind flies around this much, same is true for others; that's what minds are like; who am I to judge?

Hah hah ha. Then I stopped all that. Now I don't really engage in that stuff regularly. May be I'd start now that you've raised my interest again.

Oh, don't worry about meditation issue; that's exactly what you're supposed to see-that mind runs everywhere. :-) You could do it 20 minutes; I could hardly keep in one place for more than a few seconds when I began. And walking meditation is a little more difficult because your eyes are open, making yourself open for more distractions.
