Share 'first reaction'

What do you do when you encounter something or someone alien or strange? Do you instantly feel dislike and distrust because you don't know anything about the alien thing or person?Do you choose not to react to it unless it affects you in some way?Do you first wait to see how others ,whose opinion you respect ,react to it? Your opinion help me a lot.
