That's a good reminder.
Have you noticed that when some relief aid is given, the ones who should be benefited are usually selected based on chief occupant of the household - almost always, a male. After the tsunami, we had some problems because the financial aid was given to the male, and many of them used it on alcohol. (They would anyway use the money on it whether there was a tsunami or not so it's not an act to release the stress.) Their wives and children had to suffer. Then some women had got together and requested the money be given to women and not the husbands. I don't know what came of it but women are more effective managers usually. Most of them only need some support to start and overcome the pressure from society.

You are really right nalini,
Women can be very productive human being if they would have the same opportunities the men always have. Especially, ( the education) which is really the main factor that makes the difference and that all women throughout the world should fight for. Only well educated women can be aware about their rights . Also being financial independent is an important thing to be respectable and proud person.

It reminds me of the gender inequality still existing in some part of the world.
And in other part of the globe, it may have gone, but not completely.
Still, there are also countries that claim that it has completely vanished in their system, yet the
light buzzes are still spreading.
Do you believe that a simple act of disrespect to a girl is a form of inequality?
Girls may have the freedom now to go to school but along the way, a simple look and talk of disrespect
brings a girl down and may ruin what she could possibly be and do for the betterment of the world.
But I would say that the video has something that could compel any girl to strive harder and think nothing more than
become someone that the world needs her to be - a being intentionally made to become productive.

In India we have self help groups where 10-12 women come together - save some money every month, do interloaning and when they have sufficient savings the banks grade them and give them loans. This has worked remarkably well in rural India. Government departments have many schemes which help women members of self help groups and most of these are the poorest of the poor. There was a case study of where a group of poor women were given two goats. The kids were given to the next poor member and within two years these women were well above the poverty line as they were selling the goats for meat - in India goat meat is most popular amongst all communities. Women have collectively fought against the illicit breweries, dowry system, stopped child marriages and conducted 'nari adalats' informal courts where issues of domestic discord and violence were solved amicably. Public shaming of men who illtreated their wives has worked wonderfully! We can change the world!

Thank you for sharing such informations about your country.
Dowry system is still existing here among Islam people. Yet, there are some who try liberating themselves from it. I am Christian so I did not experience witnessing that within my family circle. But I don't see something wrong about it. I just respect that as it is another religion's belief and culture.
About that self-help group among women, I think I could compare that to cooperatives existing here. It is open to both genders and it's main goal is to help poverty.It lets families or individuals with limited financial means to borrow money at lower interest rates.

Good question my countess.You will see the boy affect right after the women read my post in women only section.Just braking down the barriers that keep us appart.Both genders are amazing.:).Besides.If someone wanted women only to comment here they should have blocked all the men.haha.Arent we separated too much already?We should be together not apart.As god intended.
This section is someting like "jews only"section.Discriminatory.Are you running concentration camps here?You have "jews only"section,"blacks only"section,"whites only"section.This is so past century.Get over it.
This video has some nice music background but other then the satisfying tone it does not effect me in any other way.Probably because it has no girls in it.haha.Yes the girls are pretty special but men are not bad either as many women will testify.:)

That makes me think... but It's a little more complicated than this, the difference is just that we have more estrogens instead of testosterones... many of us are smarter than the guys... and to add to that, we are a more caring nature... but the egoistic guys who may probably just be physically stronger always seek to take control... here in this special group we assume that women would be free of that.
if you guys respect us, us in this space, we'll do that in return - definitely... but well you're very special after all and I also like the song. Lol, buy her a cow. That line made me laugh. :)
