you know, I think they are not driven by the desire for killing, at all... they strive to fulfill quite different needs actually; but they pick the wrong way to do this (i think, they understand deep inside that it's a wrong way but they just aren't able to change it) and that's why they do it again and again. Well i'm not a specialist, all this is just my opinion.
Thats a good opinion. But i think peole who "kill" might get some type of thrill or an adreniline rush (bad at spelling)..... i dont no, what do you think.
The reasons vary per serial killer. There is no one set reason why they kill. Contrary to popular belief, they are not insane, which is a legal term, not a medical one. From my studies on serial killers, only a rare few came from a good home with loving parents. You can tell a lot about an individual killer by the people he/she chooses, their method of killing, and the souvenirs they choose from each victim.
While some do take great thrill in what they're doing, that doesn't apply to all of them. The reasons are many and, as I stated above, individual.
Hope this helps.
what makes them do it- i think, it is a lack of empathy and a certain vage rage.
as serial killers they might be addicted to the thrill just like alcoholicans to their drinks?
yes, maybe they are junkies- their way. but i must admit i don´t know much about forensic psychiology.
I believe serial killers do get a thrill from killing. Although it is true each case is individual and as Kimberly stated you can tell allot by the victims they choose. Most serial killers are highly intelligent that is one reason they are not caught after the first murder. It is widely believed there is a sexual element to the murders done by serial killers. Most serial killers don't start with murder but some other type of torture and progress to killing.
