The community based on the iPersonic personality test.

today when i went by bus i noticed some people making fun of a group´s member.
this can happen everywhere- at the office- in shops, in restaurants- at any place.
sometimes it is really hard, not to laugh, because some jokes about others are really funny. but i think there are frontiers!

if one is a member of the group and sees how the person to be laughed at reacts,
how would you react?

ignore the buffoon? change the topic? talk respectfully and warmly to the object of laughter??
i think that especially youth or adults having to do with younger people should think about that.

highly sensitive persons -especially young ones-being a victim of derision can get traumatized, thats what i belive at least. They get more and more helpless and can´t react in a cool manner.

why do people make other people hurt them?
why sometimes one can´t hide weekness or feeling of incertitude?

i think it would be good if we didn´t look away.

Yes, people could get carried away and it may not be fun anymore. Certain topics may not be fun for certain individuals from the beginning.

For the victims, I feel, the best reaction will be not to react; ignore; just laugh with others and show that he/she doesn't care. After all, we can't change the whole world; we could only change the way we react/accept the world.
Other members of the group could change the topic, and perhaps, later on when the emotional tone is more neutral, discuss with the others if this "joking" is appropriate. Even if they didn't agree then, it may provoke them to think. Hopefully.

Why do people let others hurt them? Probably because they don't know how to react; they don't know their own value and strength; they are afraid to lose the so called "friends" and be alone, or find better people to associate with; they prefer to tolerate humiliation for other benefits they might receive by being in this group.

You are right. I also feel if we look away, be passive spectators, then we are contributing to the problem.

that was a very deliberate answer!

I think some people might make fun of others to justify, that they are better the the person who was getting made fun of. I always say "I'ts better to be made fun of, atleast someone else gets a break."

that is a very easy-going and cheerful way to look at it
