Favourite Music Genres

Well, it's simple... just list a bunch of genres that you like the most.
Perhaps list some artists that you like too. I know many of us might liek to think we have broad music tastes; but still, surely many of us have preferences of favourites at least.

I guess most my favourite is the Alternative Rock and the Grunge era of the early 90's and other music that encompasses it and is encompassed by it. I like other things as well; I like:

- Grunge
- Indie
- Alternative
- Shoegaze
- Punk
- Post Punk
- New Wave
- Folk
and others also I guess.

Artists I like are:

Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Alice In Chains, Depeche Mode, Nirvana, Joy Division, Animal Collective, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Tool, Tripping Daisy... and my list could go on and on I reckon.

I like everything but Jazz. What I listen to is generally decided by my mood or what purpose I require of the music (e.g., to stimulate my thought process or as an escape from my current reality), whatever touches m soul at any given time. Music of all genres serve a purpose to me.
