Favourite Music Genres

Well, it's simple... just list a bunch of genres that you like the most.
Perhaps list some artists that you like too. I know many of us might liek to think we have broad music tastes; but still, surely many of us have preferences of favourites at least.

I guess most my favourite is the Alternative Rock and the Grunge era of the early 90's and other music that encompasses it and is encompassed by it. I like other things as well; I like:

- Grunge
- Indie
- Alternative
- Shoegaze
- Punk
- Post Punk
- New Wave
- Folk
and others also I guess.

Artists I like are:

Smashing Pumpkins, My Bloody Valentine, Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Alice In Chains, Depeche Mode, Nirvana, Joy Division, Animal Collective, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Tool, Tripping Daisy... and my list could go on and on I reckon.

I'm very addicted to new wave at the moment though.
It's kind of sad how much music I have on my computer.
104k songs now.
Working on 110k.
But hey, at least it's a curable addiction.

Not into loud screaming harsh music or humdrum boring country songs either. I find a flow in all of the music I listen too. Sometimes I'll listen to Radiohead and Miles Davis back to back....or I'll switch and listen to Nine Inch Nails followed by Ani DiFranco....I really have no oder for my musical madness lol. A musician myself, I am drawn to lyricly deep music. I dive into words and secondly hear each individual part...maybe that's why I'm so ecclectic lol.
