What do you use to discover new music? I must say that I found some interesting new tunes here in our iPersonic discussions ...

An incredible tool do find new music is musicovery. It has a real nice interface. Just click the genres you like and define the "mood" of the web radio. That's it. Play around with it and you will find realy nice stuff.

Any other sources for finding new music?

Last.fm
An awesome website which compiles all the music you listen on your PC (or iPod) through an application you have to install. Aside from a bunch of statistics about your listened artists and songs, you can search for similar bands to those you listen to, or people with similar taste to yours and then nose out the bands they listen to and thus keep on investigating.

Hey, Jango is looking good. I like real simple user interfaces ...

www.pandora.com is a great way to discover new music. Definitely check it out!

last.fm is great. I love it!

Agreed. Pandora is great. You start with music you know and love, then it starts playing music that's related in some ways....then it just reads your mind. And you think "I didn't even know I like this song"...but you do!

I browse around imeem.com a lot. Just find a song you like and there will usually be a "related" section that'll point you in the direction of similar bands and songs.
Musicovery is awesome. Thanks.

I discovered a few songs of completely different genres when I bought my new laptop because it has preloaded tunes. I know it's very cheesy but it's good, I actually uploaded to my cell phone an African song I loved. And in general, I get updated with my friends' cell phones :) Last fm is a good source as well. I'll try musicovery.

I use projectplaylist.com
I like typing in random words into the search bar and just listening to random songs.
I also visit people's pages and listen to playlists they've created.

Then again, you're talking to the girl with 92k songs on her computer.
My music interests are all over the place. I have a hard time finding music I don't like.
It's safe to say music is a 24/7/365 thing for me.

Sometimes I find nice songs on this website: bedtime tunes. You can look through the most popular, some of them are pretty good. Also, CBC3 is a good online radio, their podcasts usually contain some catchy stuff ( the radio is kind of iffy ). Yay, I can't wait to try musicovery! :D

I go to a lot of concerts and their are bands all over the place just waiting to be discovered. The Vans Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos Tour are some of the more know concerts to find bands. If you can't afford to go you can just look up the setlist to see who's playing. But their's always a bunch of people handing out flyers for bands. That or dirtfest is pretty awesome to check out. If you just wanna go online then I would say purevolume.com
and myspace always works to.
