No, I absolutely disagree, Simon, I'm with Cindy! I couldn't stand the idea of living in a world where I'm nothing but a marionette whilst some destiny (whichever) is pulling the strings! I really cherish the idea of having a free will and a strong influence on my life (although I know about all the discussions about the existence of free will, of course).

The determination you mention (genes and milieu) is certainly given, but I'd rather call it a leeway. It's difficult to become a basketball star when you're only 1,60 m tall, and easier when you're 2,10 m. It's difficult to win the nobel prize for physics, when you're born in a slum in Mexico. But both isn't impossible. My favourite example is always Stephen Hawking and his ALS - wouldn't you think that this is a really strong determination, even a limitation? And yet he fights his destiny in a way you can only admire. Wouldn't it have been much easier for him to give in and wouldn't most of us have done so?

Personality is not only a matter of which cards we're dealt. It's a matter of free decision and constant striving as well, I'm sure.

i find astrology very amazing for the descriptions it presents for each sign.. i would love to study it but the technicalities are kinda complex and confusing =) .. on the other hand i doubt it could be true because interpretations from different people vary..

Hello, from South East Africa (Mozambique). I'm a Leo and although my astrological personality characteristics are factual, so are my iPersonality, but then I think that outside influences, personal experiences and choices sometimes guided by good or bad choices, have a great deal to do with what we are at any given time. Do you follow your destiny according to your astrological chart or intuition?

the analysis on ipersonality totally coincides with my astro sign which is LIbra. I am really curious.. does our birth determine our personality? if it is so.. it will be so sad..

Hi folks-

I've always been mildly intrigued by Astrology from the perspective of identifying (or maybe justifying depending on your viewpoint) personality traits/behavior. I've never held much faith that the stars can predict our futures, but I truly believe they influence who we are as people.

For the record, I am a Scorpio...with Scorpio ascending and yes, the moon was also in Scorpio. I had my chart done 10 years or so ago and was pretty amazed just how Scorpio I am....haha. I am blessed/cursed with being about as Scorpio as you can get (I think most people who know me would call it a curse).

I'm also a Dreamy Idealist...ugh, no wonder I feel so alone 99% of the time.
