Yes, and more. My true friend looked after me, guided me, inspired me, shared each other's lives. She made me feel good and happy about myself, she instilled confidence and admired every small thing I did or possess. She gave me strength and taught me to fight back. She opened a whole new world.
When we didn't agree with each other, we both respected other's view and kept quiet, and we tried to understand the other and ended up TAKING up that very view! (There were only 2 major issues that we had different opinions about and now that gap is closed!)
Over the years, she has stood by me, despite my failures, mistakes, warts and all!
She's the gold standard in friendship.
