The iPersonic wish list

The further development of iPersonic depends on you - in a literal meaning. I really appreciate your feedback and your initiative. It is essential for me to know what you want. This is why I am putting up this wish list. This should be the place where we discuss new ideas for iPersonic.

I'd like to start with some specific areas.

Groups

Currently, only I can set up a new group. So please contact me if you'd like to create a space where you want to discuss and share things with other members. I suggest that you ask two or three members if they'd like to start a group with you. One of you can be the group administrator. This person will be able to invite new group members, set up the group name and icon etc. etc.

The first group that was established by demand is "The Forge", a group for metal fans on iPersonic. Check it out to see how a group should work. The group was requested by Yova. He is also the group admin.

Translations

One of the first things that popped up here at iPersonic was the idea of having the test translated. Localized versions could make it easier for non-english speaking members to join iPersonic. We now have a group that started to translate the test into spanish. Thanks to Yova, we are making a good progress. Ronaldo just started another group for the translation into portuguese.

If you'd like to help on the translations or if you'd like to start a new translation project - let me know.

New Features

Prince of lies asked me, whether we should implement a quiz. What's your opinion about that? Can you think of any additional features that you may like? A worldmap? You got it ;-) A world clock? Any need for an events calendar (for your birthdays)?

The iPersonic project is limited in resources - but I'll see what I can do to work things out.

New Members

iPersonic is growing with a good rate - at least in my opinion ;-) This isn't about quantity. This is about meeting interesting people that are on your wavelength. We started 4 weeks ago and now we have members from all continents here at iPersonic. It is really fascinating to see how many interesting people you can meet in such short amount of time ...

You can help to make this grow by inviting people that may appreciate being on iPersonic with you. Maybe you've got some other ideas how we could attract new members? Let us know.

A personality button can be added if the user joins the corresponding personality group. I thought of it as a benefit that would people make want to join the group. Europe is a bit crowded. You can zoom in by clicking on a country. Or you can drag a zoom area by clicking and moving the mouse.

Not all members are on that map, only those members that specified a home town that could be recognized.; ▶ Reply to This

The poiint is that you'll have to have enough members to make it interesting, but not too many, which would make it less "familial" and more cumbersome for us to handle (rememmber, we are only two people). Permalink Reply by Sundeep on August 14, 2008 at 9:34am: You can give facility to the users to immediately be notified that they have recieved a comment when they are online, like there's a facility in orkut when users are immediately notified at the bottom right corner about the sender and revealing some amount of the scrap content also. So through this they can talk to each other while staying online in ipersonic, exempting them from any need of a third party messenger.

Permalink Reply by Marcel Heyne on August 14, 2008 at 9:59am: Well, it is not the same, but you should receive eMail notifications for new comments and messages if you didn't disable them in your privacy or eMail settings. If you don't receive eMail notifications you may also want to check your spam folder. New messages are also announced by the highlightened envelope in the top bar.

In September, the whole message and friends system will see a major overhaul, which will make it easier to use by integrating it in the "standard" iPersonic workflow.; ▶ Reply to This

Will that be fixed soon? I suspect iPersonic is being updated and it just changed with the updates. Doesn't sound like it should be a huge problem really, but my blog isn't the same without my starry background and orange comic sans writing! :p

Also, another sugesstion I've had is perhaps more than oen text box o nthe page? or can you already do that?; ▶ Reply to This
