History showed that it is definitely possible to agitate masses of people with religion. Imagine the crusades or jihads. Okay, I won't blame the religion for that fact because it were the kings/clerics of this time who started this wars. But the problem is that the word of god only exists as the people interpret it. (in my opinion) So religion can be a tool to get the support which is needed for war. Of course, that's not acceptable. But that's reality. Religion should never be the reason for a war.
War is a political or social move. Religion is for spirituality but it is one way of division of people. Ideally, various religious groups should live in harmony but politicians and others who crave power can use religion as a basis for division hence war. It brings disgrace to the religion but history books are written by those who win, sponsored by those who have power so the disgrace is masked.
To be quite honest, we shouldn't go to war at all... Whether it is for a barrel, a gun or a cross. We should fight for peace and harmony because it might not look but the world is like a round table, we are all the same despite race, age, gender and everything else.
War , i mean, some people may think that it is a way to decrease human population...yup, so famine also done the same, diseases also, and all of this come from war(most of them), so , do you guys really thing its a suitable thing unless its for protection?
My only answer in this is man. we are all flawed creatures and in our many flaws, we tend to twist and misconstrue words until they are bent to our own desires. So called "religious" wars have been fought and are still being fought over not just opposing ideals, but also over desired land. I further believe that there is no justification for war based on religion because every man and woman has free will and it is our free will that allows us to decide who we serve and how we intend to serve our God. Ultimately, after all the research anyone can do on this issue, it still boils down to an individual's free will on what ideals and beliefs they choose to accept.
