In religion, what is more important?the rules or the compassion and universal love?

People often use religion as their guidance, but sometimes, aren't that rules can be broken? I thought that every religion in this world propagate universal love and compassion?So should we always follow the rules though sometimes we offend others or holding love as the main principal?

what i want to spread is only the main theory about open mind..

I ,personally agree with kring girl,people refuse to learn more, they only hold what they have learnt or know.... but thats not the truth, one should learn, the more you learn, the more you know, the more you will understand... I dont believe that converting to other religion is a fault, people can choose what he want to believe, we have no right to say right or wrong...as long as the religion teaches one to be kind, compassion and have universal love , it is still a good thing!

if one want to learn more(Im a people like that) can try read others religion's book 1st ,then, you will understand more, thus, your world will be wider....

people have right to choose his/her belief, I choose buddhism as it suit my own thinking and philosophy well(im not preaching!),but i will still read some book from other religion, this can increse my knowlegde...

maybe my definition of open mind is not same with you....

but nevermind,what is life if there is no difference, the important thing is learning....

Many people cling to religion in a way too fanatic ...

Everyone we have our own beliefs .... All without exception believe in something ... that regardless of religion we are ...
We can be Christians, Muslims, Taoists ... .. etc ....

The important thing is to seek harmony, peace and love in our hearts ...

Standards are essential to maintain order ... but I think more important that the rules must always be ... love ...
Love is the basis of compassion for peace ...

If you break the rules for love .... I think it's worth ....

Not bad if you steal a kiss when you love ...
