Before I came up with this question and learned the answers based on science, this had popped out of my mind after I had a heartfelt conversation with a friend whom I used to call as my spiritual counselor. We always start the conversation with "hi's" and "hello's" and end up with God. Ironically, we are from different religion but we respect each other's beliefs and we agree on the same faith. From that conversation, I have realized that all my life I have relied so much on my tears to keep me sane and righteous. I could have sought revenge over people who have crushed me or I could have beaten myself up for doing mistakes I never wanted to. And these reasons made me thankful for acknowledging the healing offer of tears.
Scientifically, tears would have been considered unnecessary for man's survival if not for the following discoveries: try to read this article.
Tears are recognized to be only part of emotions by most people. Thus, many of us try to hide their tears as much as they could for the fear of being labeled as "weak". Little did they know that aside from the feeling of inner comfort after pouring out the tears, these miracle fluids are also helpful in achieving a good health. Moreover, tears can also be clear signals of one's sincerity and can also be the reason for a relationship's reunion. But best of all, tears make me forgive and help me avoid complications of troubles.
Now, on your own, are your tears important to you? How and why?
I completely agree. In fact i think that not only do they contain the pain of the soul, those salty drops of liquid are evidence of the purity of one's soul.
It all becomes so much easier when we realize that we always have the option of releasing all the pent up frustration within us through tears. After a particularly devastating week in school or home, having a good cry makes me feel much much calmer.
Yes, it could even occur to me to miss crying if I had not cried in a month or two. In scientific studies, along with the tears flow out the toxins from our body, hence the comfort we feel. We take this in an emotional version as releasing of frustrations. Without tears, there would be no another way of lessening the toxins in our body and we could all have been drowned in depression and frustrations. Even the individual who thinks has the hardest emotion could also cry. Conclusively, tears are vital in man's inner survival.
Good point: Like the saying that goes, "after the rain, comes out the rainbow" . We won't realize happiness if we are still burdened with sorrows and hatred. And we can only unburden these by crying them out. Metaphorically, we clear out our sight by cleaning our eyes for a better view of the world.
