What will happen after death?

Okay, I wanted to start this discussion, to listen to other opinions of what follows after death. I though about it a long time and discussed it for hours with my friends and family. I think here is a good place to start a discussion about it. First, I want to say that everyone can take part in it. It doesn't matter in what you believe, its only a talk about what could happen.

I think everyone will be reborn after death. The reason is simple: the physical expression of the "Conservation of energy" told us, that no energy could dissapear without a trace. And isn't the "soul" a kind of energy, too? In this case a "life energy". The reason of life is to learn in my opinion. In every life of your several ones you learn a little bit more of everything what is to know. You feel every emotion, live every situation that exists. If you are "finished", you may raise to a higher existance and learn even more. My theories are based on a kind of process of development of your own self. "On the other side" you may remember the past lifes. But in every new life, you will have a new start, to make other experiences. I also believe in Providence, so everything what happens to you has got a higher purpose.

This is a roughly view in my opinion about this fascinating subject. But please note, that these are only my thoughts about it, so it's okay if you believe in everything, as long as you are happy with it. You can post it here, I'm always interested in other perspectives.

Permalink Reply by ♥ Sabine ♥ on September 10, 2009 at 6:03am: According to Christianity you'll go to heaven or hell. According to atheism you'll decompose and rot and worms will fill your eye sockets. According to Paganism you'll be reincarnated. I'm not sure about the rest of those.
i think it's depends on what you believe, there are lots of different beliefs. Death is really just a seperation of your life force from this life you have lived. You do not really die. To almost everyone else still in this world you have left behind you will be seen as gone for a while. The body you will leave will decay because your life force no longer supports it and it will become part of the rest of the matter of this earthly world. Your soul will travel to whereever you believe you will go and a lot of spirits who know you and love you will greet you. Whatever you need to transition from the life you have lived will be provided for you. If your soul is distressed when you part from the earthly world your spirit loved ones will console and help you. I think the souls who go to a hell is one from their own making and can change to one of peace if their spirit self would allow it. Their spirit loved ones will be waiting for them when they are ready to leave an energy that expresses their pain and agony.; ▶ Reply to This

it can be nothing, just black after this life. i should point out that in physics, black is not really a color, it means lack of everything. its just another term for 'nothing'

it would sure be good if there's heaven, or if the end of our life in this world is a start in another, different world.

reincarnation sucks, because every human would probably become a lower life form. i dont like hell either, its too hot there, i think. :3

if it's about energy, yeah, energy turns into other forms, but i believe i have personality that is my very own, not something else's, even with my energy within it.

let's die first and meet soon after to write the book "A Collaborative Essay on Life After Death"...
