I think that God from the start has given us the freedom to choose our own destiny and it's up to us to choose the right paths that lead to our success. Whether it's the good path or the evil path, it's all up to us, for God didn't create robots, he created people who are able to think for themselves. But I also think that God gives us a helping hand from time to time and that He is always there to give us the peace of mind that we sometimes need.
freedom of choice to get it right or the choice to make a mess of it, ethier way we have to live and learn from it. Spirit's always there to give us faith that we are going to be alright, as I believe we are only given what we can handle.
There are few points I would like to share, that I learned from different sources and own experience.
1. There is no such thing as good and bad, we classify things that way, by simply drawing lines, thus creating separations. We call these dualistic separations "good" or "bad", "here"-"there", "up"-"down". We have the choice to do "good" or "bad" things, and God doesn't really care, to him we are safe in this universe. We create our happiness or suffering, we can change the course anytime we decide. If we create suffering for us and others, we may stop doing so in any given moment. God speaks through silence, if we spend some time in silence many answers will come.
2. Some wise man, I thing he is known as St. Maximus the Confessor, said that God embraces our way, because it always leads towards him, and if we chose another way, God embraces this road too.
3. Technically we attract everything that happens to us. We do it by our aware or non-aware choices. My experience show that we can only chose a certain road, and if that road is taken by heart, than things happen in a way much bigger than we can ever create, deserve or plan.
God(s) has nothing to do with our destiny. It's mostly in our hands, although the environment we live in and the nature of the things have an effect as well.

In my opinion destiny is in our hands but by having a control of God.I mean we have a power to choose our way,but there is a greater power, too. There are some events in our lives that we really have no control on.We didn't choose our family,race,... . there are such things we're forced to.No one can regret to have his/her own family. But we regret alot in our other actions. If there was no freedom, and all of our actions were based on God's will, the word "REGRET",would be meaningless. As i said,we are invested with power by God,but not an unconditional freedom and power. We all have some events in minds that have happend out of our control ,or some decisions we have tried alot to do but never could. So it should be acceptable for everyone that there is a greater power that affects our destiny beside our will, the one i name God and nalini mentioned as nature and maybe another one, another name.
God has created us free, and no one has the right to inslave us or chooses our destiny but him, make sure that our destiny is in the god's hand because there is what we call a law of nature which is made by god ofcourse otherwise there will be no order if we can choose our distiny ,still we can be free but always with god's control.
Destiny may be seen either as a fixed sequence of events that is inevitable and unchangeable, or that individuals choose their own destiny by choosing different paths throughout their life.

We all live under God's providence. This mystery is wrapped in our free will. Why do we have free will? Without free will, we a just robots, and robots cannot love. Our destiny in this life is to live like christ, to enjoy his communion. Once you give yourself to christ, the answer to your question becomes too obvious, I have to create, I have to love, I have to live because each day I become more christlike I exerience greater love and compassion, and freedom and understanding. Your question hints at roboticism, I would be very careful to live a life without the loving presence of christ and god.
