Why would we want to please everybody? Who really matters in our lives? Those are the only ones I'm interested in pleasing.

thanks for being true to your opinion Maarten, why not try to observe the people that surrounds you? not just me across the miles...since i know that i can't please you for being a friend by exchanging ideas and views in life? i respect your decision then...thanks for being true;-) i really admire that kind of people not much words to say.....

absolutely not!!! but there are ways that we can make them happy even after their disappointments from what they expect from us....

no... everybody has their own interests to please themselves... we cannot please everybody.. even us sometimes, we do not please ourselves... why do we need to please other people?...

You know, in Germany there's a saying: "Wer will jedem gefallen, verdirbt es mit allen."
Can't translate the rhyme, but overall it means: "If you wanna please everyone - you won't please anyone."

Absolutely not. If you want to live a normal life, don't even try to please everybody for you will end up disappointing yourself too. Do something good and they will love you, but just a single mistake they will forget everything good you have done for them. The more you try to please other people the more complicating it gets. So why would you stress yourself trying to please everyone?

Bottom line, as long as you’re not hurting anyone, you're doing just fine. Try to please not everybody but yourself first. Live life the way it’s supposed to be and regardless of what other people might say. No one has the right to say you're not a better person, let God be the judge of it.

To many people to please. To many people with different agenda's,view's, thought's & feeling's, why would you bother, why please those who do not wish to be pleased.

some people will never be pleased with anything....seems like a waste of time

One can not please everyone but one can certainly displease the least number of people. The best policy is to be happy and make others also happy. In my opinion pleasing people is not that important as not hurting anyone.

Nope.

Not even the greatest heroes managed to please everyone, it is all because of DPDP (Different People Different Perspectives/Personalities). There will always be conflicts between subjects.

I was asking the same question few weeks ago. It kinda confused me, how could some people don't like someone that is nice, humble, and very helpful like one of my friends. I do understand that everyone has their own opinion and has their own preference about friendship. I completely understand that and think to let go. But then I found one of our friends don't like her, just because she looks so happy and having an almost perfect live. WTF?

Then I started to think about that issue. I know some people who just don't like to see someone happy, don't like to see someone better than them, don't like to see someone able to do something that they can't, and many more. They simply need those dramas in their life. I wonder why?

I got the answer after thinking for a while. The problem usually laid on their background, family, education system, friends, way of life, spiritual, etc. Even sometimes a perfect parents are not able to create a perfect kid. It is as complicated as our family history. And it is not that we can't change the way they look at their life or change them to be a better person, but it is much better and easier to let them go. Not because we don't have to care about everyone, but because everyone has their own right to walk with their life.

What we can do best is trying to live our life honestly and sincerely. Be good to others and don't really take it seriously or judging seriously to those who don't like you. Usually it is just because they don't really know and understand you, or they simply need to dislike you to be able to see their life as a better one. And for the last reason, just be more empathy.

So, no I guess. It is not that we can't or need not to pleased everybody.
It is just because we appreciate everyone's opinion that we take like and dislike just as an opinion.
Not something that need or need not to be changed.

not everyone should be pleased, i think people who aren't pleased are just really selfish and they just need to think that there are other people in worse situations..besides it offers ballance and harmony..not everyone gets what they want
